Gaming Desktop Computers - Best Gaming PC

Gaming desktop computers are built to process the huge amounts of information available while playing massive role-playing games or first-person shooters, especially while online. These games contain incredible detail and often require quick reactions. A gamer is only as good as the computer on these games, and the difference between success and failure could lie in whether a computer lags a second or two behind. Many of these computers use liquid cooling technology.

Gaming desktop computers are also built to conveniently handle all the peripheral devices that go along with those games, including ports for joysticks, steering wheels and any other devices. They are also built with more style and portability than normal computers.

Some of the cheapest gaming desktop computers are those that are built specifically by the person who will be playing them. Often a gaming PC just as powerful can be found for the same amount of money.

The other option is to purchase a specific gaming computer that has been built for that purpose. A cheap gaming desktop can be had for around $1,500, while others can run as much $8,000.

Regardless of which option is used, there are a few things the buyer should keep in mind. A fast central processing unit (CPU) will help prevent the lag that can occur during massive online role-playing games. Some of the best gaming PC units will contain dual or quad core processors for those indulging in extreme gaming experiences.

Memory is also important for successful PC gaming. A large amount of memory is necessary to allow the gaming computer to quickly access programs it uses on a regular basis. The best gaming desktop PC will have at least two gigabytes of RAM memory and could have up to eight gigabytes.

Many computer games have realistic-looking graphics, but without a high end graphics card the images will not look nearly as good as they were intended. Graphics cards often can be upgraded.

With a desktop gaming computer, the whole package is important. A fast central processing unit and lots of memory will not be enough if the graphics card is below par.

Investing in a good desktop gaming computer can mean the difference between life and death in the often realistic and complex world of online gaming.

Today, more than ever, Gaming Desktop Computers are one of the most popular products world wide.

From custom made to refurbished or store bought, finding the best gaming PC for yourself or as a gift for someone else is easy with the use of the Internet.

Video Gaming and Computer Tips For Your HDTV

The new HDTV set can be used not only for viewing traditional TV content from cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcast and optical disc players but also content from other multimedia devices. These can be your gaming console such as the PlayStation 3, the Wii, the Xbox 360, or your personal computer. This is the reason why newer HDTV sets now have multiple inputs and functions to cater to multimedia requirement.

Gaming Consoles

HDMI output is standard for almost all new gaming consoles, except for the Wii, which came up with its own Component Video Cable. TV manufacturers complemented this by equipping their sets with picture presets like "Game" or "Sports" configured specially for video games. Most games are produced on widescreen 480p or 720p, with some even done on 1080i. Older versions of these game consoles come with analog outputs only. If you want to connect them to your new HDTV set, use the S-video or component video connections for better picture quality.

Sony's PlayStation 3 or PS3 has HDMI outputs that support high definition 16:9 video and its Blu-ray drive can also be used to play back movie titles. Micrososoft's Xbox 360 allows users to download games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, and movies. This console supports all games in high-definition 16:9. It can also play back DVDs at 480p without any additional hardware and also has an option for HD DVD playback ( discontinued due to defeat in format war with Blu-ray). Nintendo came up with the Wii but opted to concentrate on the gaming experience rather than the add-on features that Microsoft and Sony included in their game consoles. Wii does not have an HDMI output but it came up with a Component Video Cable that allows you to hook your console system to an HDTV to view 16:9 or widescreen 480p progressive output. It is also has no stand-alone DVD or Blu-ray player like PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Personal Computers

New personal computer models, Macintosh or Windows-based, now have DVI interface, the digital version of VGA. This is a type of connection that inputs uncompressed video signals from the computer to the display device. Since there is no compression used, there is no loss of picture quality when the source signal is displayed on the monitor. If your HDTV set has no DVI input, you need a DVI-to-HDMI adaptor cable that is normally available in electronics stores.

We are now witnessing a new trend in the household wherein members of the family converge in the living room with a large HDTV set to view movies or TV programs, surf the web or play their favorite video games. Television has certainly evolved from the traditional boob tube into a multimedia necessity. So before buying a new HDTV set, see to it that it has the right connections and the necessary features for your new multimedia devices.

Benefits Between Console Games and Computer Games

There are many benefits of playing console games verses computer games; one of the major benefits is the fact that the console games are generally cheaper than having to buy a personal computer. However, computer games possess way better graphics than any other video game you will ever play. Therefore, it is difficult to decide which type of system you want to choose.

The console games are somewhat easier to set up and to play in fact they are so simple that young children can manage to play them without difficulty. Playing video games enables the player to escape into a new world of action and adventure. The player feels like he or she becomes the character in the game, and no task or level is too great to accomplish. However, you look at it; it depends on what game you choose to play. There are many levels of strategic missions to accomplish. There is the fantasy attached to see your self as being and doing something special like saving a downed solder in battle or saving lives. However, video games are not real and will in no way prepare you for real life.

Video games require skill and coordination as well as memory a player must learn and remember what each button does as well as learn the outline of the game. All of this is in order to conquer the game. Playing video games can be addicting to a person playing the games but would you rather have you child at home playing video games or out in the world getting into trouble.

The console games have recently developed systems that provide much better quality of games and features. They also have increased in the price and numbers for these types of consoles. The newer console systems allow players to play on or off line. If you choose to play online then this enables you to play multiple player games as well as chat with new people.

The computer game consoles have opened up a completely new world to video game players. The more advanced systems that connect to the computer allows the players to play alone or with groups of players or teams to venture into unknown or alien worlds and accomplish even greater feats than the older game could. The technology in computer advancement has improved the graphics so much everything on the screen is life like or real in appearance.

The only draw back is the more advanced the technology the greater the cost of producing the games and the systems. Therefore, as you can see there are many benefits to both the console games as well as the computer games: so either one will allow you to escape from the everyday world of trouble for a short while.

Considerations for Gaming Laptop Computers

Laptop computers are gaining an ever-increasing share of the computer market. For gamers, their portability and light weight has often been offset by lower processing power and poorer screen graphics than most desktop machines. Times change, however, and the newest generations of laptop computers offer plenty for dedicated gamers. If you're purchasing a new laptop for your gaming-addict son, these are the things you should consider to make sure that you're getting a machine he'll actually use.

Processing Power and RAM

Most computer games are graphics intensive, which means that processing power and RAM are huge considerations. Look for a laptop that has a high-speed processor and the max amount of RAM in your price range. You'll want to aim for at least 4GB of RAM and a dual core processor so that the computer responds quickly to input and redraws the screen without stalling or stuttering. This is the one thing that will affect game play more than anything else-a slow machine will get you killed in most games, so really, it's a matter of life and death.

Video Card

Equally important to the gaming experience is the video card. Most laptop computers have an onboard video processor, but that's just not good enough when your party's life depends on you being able to see who's injured and how badly. You'll want a name here like nVidia's GeForce Go or ATI's Radeon Mobility, which pack some power for laptops. Most off-the-shelf HP laptops or Dell laptops can be upgraded with a decent video card that will make your gamer a happy camper. If you want to save money on the front end, though, you can skimp a little on the video card and promise him an external video card upgrade down the line.

Screen Size

Size really does matter when it comes to gaming, and so does resolution. In most cases, laptop computers will want the biggest screen you can afford with decent screen resolution to make the picture sharp, crisp and realistic.

Input Devices

The laptop keyboard and mouse are also important because they're the way that the player controls what's happening on screen. A full-size keyboard is ideal for gaming so you can get as close to full-size as you can. Touchpad sensitivity isn't something you can judge well because the feel of a laptop touchpad is a personal thing. You can make up for it by making sure that the machine has USB ports to connect up external keyboard and mouse for a better gaming experience with computer laptops.

Battery Power

Graphics and gaming apps draw a LOT of power, so they'll drain your batteries fast. If you're gamer kid is going to be mobile, pick from laptop computers with 9-cell batteries for the best battery life. Otherwise, his batteries are likely to fail just as he's about to win an epic battle, and that won't make anyone happy.

Choosing the right gaming laptop computers is no different than choosing any other computer for your use. Consider features that are most important and decide what you're willing to trade off to get the best computer you can afford. Shop around online to find the best prices on laptop computers, including the latest HP laptop computers and Apple laptop computers. If you shop carefully, you may find that you can get a lot more processing power for your money than you expected.

Tips When Shopping For a Gaming Laptop Computer

For the serious gamer any old laptop will not do, you should have a gaming laptop computer. How do you buy the right laptop? What specifications should the laptop have? It is always best to know what you want and have a clear objective before you go shopping. On of the best ways of finding out what is available open the market is to research the products on the internet, read reviews and visit forum sites to discuss the models you are interested in.

Why do you need to buy a special laptop for your gaming? If you are puzzled about this aspect of gaming keep reading to learn why. These laptops are specially designed to support high definition gaming requirements that video games place on machines. The new game versions all require machines that can read high end graphics, pushing computers to the maximum limits. There are games that are so challenging they exceed the highest definition computer's ability to play them.

You need to rule out any laptop offering integrated graphics. Even if the processor is very fast and the design very good, it will not give you the necessary frame rates that the game requires.

The graphics processing (GPU) unit is the heart of your laptop and will either make or break your gaming experience. Simply put, if the GPU is not up to speed your games will not play! When you choose your GPU make sure there is no resource sharing with the computer; laptops for gaming need a video card with its own memory board.

Buying a laptop specifically for your gaming is an investment in the most advanced technology available at present and also caters to some future developments as well. A regular laptop is not designed to play high end games and will crash.

You need to stuff the laptop chock full with RAM; this will determine the number of graphics your laptop will be able to handle at any given time. Obviously more is better! 1GB of RAM is good but 2 GB of RAM is even better; Windows Vista requires 3 GB of RAM. Less means placing limitations on your system's ability to play certain games or else the game may play but the graphics will be hazy at best.

A high resolution minimum 17 inch LCD screen is required and the resolution should be at least 1280x1024 at least. What good is a laptop without the right screen? Some features you may want to concentrate on include: native resolution, aspect ratio, contrast, viewing angle, size and rise and fall times.

The hard drive is yet another important component in a laptop used for gaming. Hard drives come in a wide variety of speeds and capacities that range from 40 to over 100 GBs. Normally user preference dictates the RPMs and GBs you choose for your hard drive.

In the end it all comes down to power; always remember that more is better in the case of a gaming laptop computer.

Most Important Aspects of Gaming Notebook Computers

No more do you have to use a super powerful desktop computer to play games, the gaming laptop is now gaining tremendous popularity due to increased performance of laptops. It seems every year or so we are seeing tremendous breakthroughs in notebook technology such as dual core processors, increase storage, more RAM, faster chipsets, more battery life and many more.

However for performance intensive activities such as gaming, only the top of the line will cut it. Gamers are increasingly demanding on technology, they are on the cutting edge of technology and know exactly what they want. As a result, they typically either build their own laptops or have them built to spec for them by the most reputable manufacturers.

One of the most important considerations for gamers is the ability to upgrade components on a regular basis since the computing industry advances so quickly. In fact, notebook technology changes every year if not every six months significantly.

Here are some of the critical areas gamers focus on when shopping for laptop computers.

Only the Best Graphics Technology

Gamers absolutely must have the fastest and hence the latest graphics technology available. In fact they are obsessed with acquiring the most cutting-edge graphic chipset's as soon as they are released.

The Most RAM Available

In addition to the latest graphics technology, most gamers preferred the absolute most RAM available for their systems. RAM or random access memory is responsible for processing and graphics files, so it is closely related to the graphics chipset. Additionally, the more RAM you have the more programs you can have open at the same time without worrying about performance issues. So naturally, and gamers want the most RAM possible.

The Most Speed Available

Gamers need absolutely the fastest computers money can buy. The faster a gaming laptop is, the better it can handle 3-D video games without the PC freezing up in the middle of your session

The processing unit or CPU is responsible for the computer speed for the most part. It is essentially your computer's brain, which does all the data processing. However since it's the most important aspect of the computer, it tends to also be the most expensive.

The Sharpest Display

The final element to a gamers dream laptop notebook is its display. Gamers need only the sharpest and brightest of displays. After all, the display is what all the other laptop components are working towards. For the absolute best gaming experience, make sure your resolution (display quality) is the finest money can buy. The best way to make sure your display is able to handle the latest 3-D gaming technology, be sure to view your laptop in person and give it the eye test. You should be able to tell what the image quality is like from checking out the laptop and a local computer store.

Cheap Gaming Desktop Computers

Buying Gaming Desktop Computers

Computer games can deliver the most advanced graphics. The true cutting edge of technology can be put to use by the latest gaming desktop computers. However, you need to have a modern computer with compatible hardware in order to play current games.

If you are looking to remain compatible with future game releases, shopping for gaming desktop computers can be very confusing. In order to be certain that you will be able to run the latest games, you might have to purchase a computer that costs as much as $1000. However, it is possible to buy a gaming desktop computer for around $500. In order to do this, you would probably need to buy the individual parts yourself. This would require building your own computer out of your choice of components.

If you are shopping for gaming desktop computers, avoid stores that cater to the general consumer. Most computer builds do not include a high performance graphics card. Also, these generic builds do not typically include a good power supply. The power supply and graphics card are two of the most important components for a gaming computer. The average manufacturer's build will not provide good hardware for this purpose.

However, there are companies that provide gaming desktop computers online. These companies tend to provide the parts that a gamer would want.

Before you choose your new machine, you should take a look at the recommended requirements of some of the latest games. You will want to choose a computer that beats these specs. Do not use the minimum requirements for this consideration. A computer that only meets the minimum requirements will probably not play these games very well. It might not play them at all. While you might be able to start a recent game, you could be getting unplayable frame rates.

It is also wise to choose a power supply and motherboard that allow for easy upgrades. Your motherboard will dictate what processor you are able to use. It will also limit how much memory you can include in your build. While you might not have enough money to buy the best gaming rig outright, you will have an easy time upgrading if you have a good motherboard and power supply. This will make it much easier to upgrade your memory, processor, and graphics card when you have more money.

Gaming desktop computers can offer the true cutting edge of video game technology. However, shopping for them can be confusing. Be sure to purchase one that will provide good performance on upcoming games.

Consider a new gaming desktop computer among your Christmas gift ideas Christmas 2009 and have a very special holiday for you and your family.

Classic Game Review: Computer Facts In Five

Computer Facts In Five (CFIF) is the computer version of Facts in Five, Avalon Hill's popular game of knowledge and quick thinking. With rules very similar to its board/card game counter part, CFIF is faster moving, more demanding, and vastly more versatile. The basic concept and function of the game is quite simple.

CFIF is played in rounds, during which one to four players work against the clock to give five answers to each of five classes and possibly sub-categories of subject matter ranging from popular subjects to highly academic ones. The answers must, however, begin with the letters to be found following the five subjects. For example, if the subject class were CITIES, and the sub-category FOREIGN, with t he letter L as the first of five letters following, then a correct answer to this part would be LONDON, as London is a Foreign City beginning with an L.

Selection of the subject categories may be made by either the computer or the player(s). If done by the computer, the program will randomly select five classes and possibly sub-categories from the over 1000 choices available to it. Selection by player, on the other hand, offers many more options, and potential strategies to be used. The computer will display a group of classes or classes and categories from which one must be chosen. The players alternate in the selection of subject until all five subjects for the round have been chosen. The strategy, of course, comes in choosing a subject at which either you excel, or at which your opponents are poor. More than half the battle may be won or lost during this part of the pre-round setup.

The strength of CFIF lies in its extreme versatility. During the initialization process you may essentially tailor the game to your requirements. At this time the following options are given: setting the time limit per player per round (normally 5 min.); specifying the number of rounds per game (1-999); the number of games per match; the alphabet to be used (you may, for example, remove some difficult letters); set letter options (each subject with five unique letters or all five subjects using the same five unique letters); and the option of using an eighty column printer. Added to these options, there are three different game modes, each with five variations.

When the desire comes upon you for a change from arcade games, or from fighting against some historic army or mythological beast, CFIF should definitely be considered. Played solitaire or as a party game (where its abilities shine best), this game, with the vast number of options combinations available, will continue to be enjoyable for years to come.

Console Gaming vs. Computer Gaming

It's an age-old question that will only get more and more intense in the coming year as the Xbox 360 is in full swing and the PS3 and Revolution release. Which is better? What system is right for me? Well, I would suggest both, but if you have to choose one or the other then you have to consider a few things.

Price is definitely a big issue. I mean, when's the last time you didn't even bat an eye when are buying something 500 bucks or more? The bottom line: Computer gaming is more expensive. Why? Because computers aren't made just for games. They are calculators, word processors, Internet navigators, music players, movie watchers, and photo editors. They are much more than a gaming machine. Consoles, on the other hand, generally aren't. It's only recently that consoles have gone online starting with the Dreamcast and I haven't seen anyone printing off spreadsheets or book reports from one yet. Consoles are purely for gaming and run between 100-500 bucks. PCs on the other hand are much more than a gaming machine and run between 1,500-3,000 dollars and need to be upgraded every now and again to play the newest and greatest games.

Genre is an issue. If you are a Real Time Strategy fan and only have a console, I mourn for you. And if you are a platformer fan, then computer gaming will be a sad mistake. Genre makes a big deal because of the controller vs. keyboard/mouse issue. Different games play much better on the different configurations. Computer gaming is best for Real Time Strategy (RTS) games, First Person Shooters (FPS), Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORG), Flight Simulation games, and Point and Click Adventure games. The consoles on the other hand are better for Fighting games, Action/Adventure games, Platformers, Role Playing Games (RPG), and Sports games.

Tech savvy can possibly be an issue. Computers are a little more unstable than consoles. I mean, when's the last time you saw a Playstation lock up or get a blue screen of death? Never, right? The same thing comes in here. Some computer games might be a little stubborn to set up the way your computer likes it or your computer might not meet the system requirements. Consoles, on the other hand, don't have that problem. The people designing the games have to fit the requirements of the console so that you don't have a problem. If you have a basic knowledge of computers, you'll be fine. If you don't, then a console might be better for you.

So as I've explained, if you want more than a gaming system for school and work or you just like gaming genres like RTS and MMORG games, I would go with a PC. If you love platformers, Action/Adventure, or Sports games or your wallet is a tad on the empty side, I'd go with a console. It won't be able to surf the Internet or help you with anything else, but it'll play some great games.

If you want a console by the end of this article, then you have 3 options at the moment. You could buy a Gamecube if you like innovation, buy a Xbox if you like the best graphics and FPS games, or buy a PS2 if you want a huge library of games or love fighting games, Action/Adventure games, platformers, and RPG games. You also have another option. You could wait until the Xbox 360 comes out this month and get that or wait until the Nintendo Revolution and PS3 come out next year.

If you want advise on gaming computers and computer gaming, then http://www.gaming-computers-authority.com is a great resource for all your questions and even has a tutorial on building your own computer.

Well, my name is Jared Strop and I've been a gamer for a very long time. I am currently hard at work at GameStop and a devoted webmaster.

3 Tips For Getting a Cheap Gaming Desktop Computer

A gaming desktop computer is optimized for smooth game play. Unlike ordinary PC's, these specially designed units won't crash, lock up or otherwise fail when playing the latest games with the best graphics. In order to provide this functionality, these machines use top of the line, cutting edge technology inside the box.

Of course, having the best of the best is never a cheap proposition. A good gaming computer will run several hundred or even a thousand dollars more over an ordinary computer. For name brands such as the Alienware line it can be even more. If you are shopping for a computer for gaming, be prepared for the sticker shock.

Tip #1: Buy Gently Used

If getting your machine new is too pricey then you may want to consider buying a gently used one. Because of the quality cutting edge components used in top brand gaming desktops they have a longer usable lifespan than your average computer. Some 2 year old PC's offer more than new computers today and cost a lot less. You can find these for sale in the classifieds or by shopping online auctions.

Tip #2: Find Deals on Parts & Re-Build

If you have a computer that could be rebuilt in to a gaming computer, you may be able to build one on a budget. This will only work out less expensive if you can get really good deals on components. You can get overstocks and wholesale prices on some parts by getting them from online auctions and you can find cheaper suppliers online that you can locally or buying from a big box retail store.

If you are computer savvy, planning, sourcing cheap parts and rebuilding a computer can be a good way to get a cheap gaming desktop computer.

Tip #3: Take Advantage of Special Sales

There are many opportunities to take advantage of good deals. Sometimes stores must clear out the old models to make way for a new release. To get these machines to sell faster, they are put on sale. There are also weekly sales usually on Saturdays and Sundays at major retailers where you can save on whatever is offered that week. Online sites such as Amazon also offer weekly sales and limited time specials. Taking advantage of sales can save you a few hundred off of the cost of your gaming computer.

Free Computer Games - Play Computer Games Online Or Download Them!

Everyone likes to take a break once in a while and play games, whether it be on an xbox, playstation, or your laptop. In this article I will list several websites that I frequently visit to find the latest free (demo and full version) games to play.

I tend to download the computer games because I don't want to lose a level and have to start all over again if I need to get back to work or study. Before I had high speed cable internet, I would hate that the game would lag if I play online, so that is the reason that I got used to downloading the games and playing them off of my hard drive.

Without further ado, here are several websites that I visit frequently to download video games. Since I cannot put tons of links in the article, I will list the game website, and you can do a simple google search to find the website.

Gamespot
Retro64 (Online Games)
Computer Games Online (Online Games)
IGN - http://pc.ign.com/ (Usually Demos)

There you have it, several websites that I visit weekly to download video games.

Note: I only use IGN to download demo games. IGN usually has the demos for upcoming hits, and I usually test out the first few levels to see if its worthy to buy and add to my collection of games. Remember that all the sites I posted are games that you can play online or download for free!

I hope you enjoyed my article and stay tuned for others!

Looking at Gaming Laptop Computers

Gaming laptop computers are items that advanced users or even the simplest users can have and enjoy for their gaming pleasure. Gaming laptops take a lot of energy and power to run and be successful as a high-powered gaming system. These machines require a lot of attention to detail when first purchasing so that you get everything you need in one package, instead of having to make several trips to get what you want. A computer like this is very demanding on power, graphics, and RAM, as well as needing a big enough hard drive to allow all the space you want so that nothing can drag you down electronically.

Putting together a computer can be difficult when no one offers a custom a laptop. So you will need to first find a company or manufacturers that will do custom made laptops. Once a company has been located that will do this, you can present them with your specifications or even build it online and submitted electronically. This ensures that all the data and ideas that you have will be put into this laptop without worrying that you will not get what you want. Laptop financing is another part of building custom computers.

These computers do not come at a cheap price and typically can run up to 3000 or even $4000, and this kind of money does not usually show up on your doorstep, or even happen to be sitting in your own bank account. Financial assistance is necessary in order to afford the best gaming laptop. You will have to apply for a loan and get approved before your computer can be shipped out or be picked up, if that's what you prefer. By making sure that all of your specifications are correct and that you have a low interest rate on the loan or credit line that they have given you, will ensure that you are happy for many years to come.

If you are interested in reading more about gaming laptop computers then please feel free to come visit our website that has lots of great information about laptop financing.

Gaming Through Computer Networking

One of the essential needs of mankind (other than food, clothing, and shelter) is entertainment. We have had many forms of entertainment since the dawn of the human race such as dancing, singing, chanting, and acting. Many of these forms of entertainment have become traditions to many cultures from across the globe. No matter what taste a society may have, they have their own form of entertainment.

People have been playing games for many reasons; some of them are to relieve them of boredom, others to escape the harsh realities of life, and some to simply relax. Regardless of what reasons they have, games have been played by everyone. The evolution of video games has come hand in hand with technological advances that may or may not be directly involved with them. We have come a long way since the days of Pac Man and Space Invader. One discipline that has helped the development of video games has been computer Networking.

Computer Networking

This is the act of connecting computers or a network of them together. This can be the connection of computers and other devices. We see this through connecting devices such as modems, webcams, fax machines, and printers to our computers.

LAN

A local area network connects computers within a room, house, or building. Gamers have experienced the advantages of playing video games that utilize computer networking. Multiplayer games such as first person shooters, real-time strategy games, and racing games have been popular amongst gamers. They have been able to play on computers that are connected, and are able to interact with each other within the game. This has made video games an increasingly social activity, unlike before when people would just play by themselves, or with just one other player at a time. With a local area network, 10-20 players are able to engage in a game at the same time.

Online games

It's quite obvious that the Interne has forever changed the way we interact with each other. So much information can be found on the Internet, and an endless number of activities are available online as well. A lot of games nowadays are "playable" online. For this reason, gamers are able to interact with other players from all across the globe. You could be living in Ohio and be playing a shooting game with someone from Barcelona. This also spawned a new game genre called massively multiplayer online role-playing games.

More popularly known as MMORPGs, massively multiplayer online role-playing games have become really popular amongst kids, teens, and adults of all ages. It allows players to go around in a virtual world and develop a particular character. The great thing about it is that thousands of players from around the world could be playing in the same game with you at the same time. You would be able to interact with these players by trading items, dueling, teaming-up, or simply just chatting.

Computer Networking has been developing at a rapid rate, and more advancement in gaming are sure to come. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.

Teens are spending so much time watching TV and playing with their computer and video games that the Kaiser Family Foundation has dubbed this generation "The Media Generation."

The recent study found that children aged 8-18 were watching TV, playing video games, on their computers, and listening to music for a total of 6 hours and 23 minutes EVERY DAY! How to Configure a Gaming Desktop Computer

This is a simple guide on how to build a gaming desktop computer. All it requires is that you understand some basic form of computer terminology, though none at all is still acceptable to understand this article.

One of the issues with the typical computer, is that it can't always handle graphically intensive scenes, resonate sound effects, or fast paced scenarios without inducing latency, momentarily freezing, and crashing all together when presented with such a task. Though if you obtain the proper performance based hardware components, you can configure a gaming computer that can handle any application or program presented to it. Here are a list of components you need in order to build a gaming desktop computer.

To begin to build yourself one of the best gaming desktop PCs around, you first need to understand the type and style of game you play. After this, begin selecting each piece of hardware because buying each piece individually ensures your getting the best value out the amount of all the performance based components available on the web.

The Motherboard has the most value in a gaming computer. This circuit board hosts and controls the system buses that allow a gaming computer to function. It must be equipped with one of the latest sockets to utilize a fast quad-core processor, an array of effective video cards, and at least triple channel memory slots for a large amount of memory to operate. A good suggestion would be to purchase a motherboard with 2 PCIe x16 expansion slots for the graphic cards, at least three color matching memory slots, a numerous amount of peripherals to accommodate room for USB ports and I/O connectors, and lastly a chipset that can handle an over clocked processor and an SLI or CrossFire video card setup. Most of these features are easy to obtain on a gaming motherboard because manufacturers are prepared to offer every possible option.

The next component we recommend purchasing would be the Processor. This small chip is what controls all your games and even the operating system you are currently using. The thing about CPUs is that they have to be fast, and I mean well equipped with multiple processor cores, a well supplied source of L2 memory cache, and most of a all, a fast FSB to ensure data is output accordingly. Two quality processor vendors we recommend providing your gaming computer with are either Intel or AMD, whom even offer other superior products for gaming purposes. Also, these impressive little chips get really hot, which require them to be equipped with a cooling agent that dissipates the heat without causing any unforeseen interruptions. Gaming systems can normally be configured to use intricate water based cooling systems to cool multiple components as the same time.

Even our next recommended component can be setup to use one of these water cooled systems. The Video Cards are the primary components that employ the graphic intentions you desire. These expansion cards use super fast GPU's to process all the exquisite scenes and videos that are encountered throughout a games span. These cards should be setup to operate in tandem for optimum graphic production for every scene or level. Gaming video cards also use their own dedicated source of memory as the GPUs are processing images. For gaming we suggest at least two SLI or CrossFire ready video cards. These cards are easy to find, its just a matter of how powerful you want them, based off of your preferences and such. You can determine important video card characteristics by visiting our website, which has a link at the bottom of this article.

Now since you have your motherboard figured out, you can select Memory Modules for your gaming computer. We recommend using modules that can can be setup to use duel and triple channel memory options, with a large capacity, fast operating speed, and function stably. Also, since the primary memory has direct interaction with the Storage Drives, we also support using SATA hard drives that spin at 7,200 RPM at least, though we suggest 10,000+ RPM rated HDDs for the best gaming desktop PCs.

At this point you should choose a case based off of the motherboards dimensions and also one that will have enough space to situate the other components that will be configured in the appropriate section of the Chassis. Plus, ensure the Power Supply has a decent power rating to supply enough power to the hard working components throughout the systems operation periods.

Gaming computers require quite an arrangement of components resulting in most carrying a high price tag when bought from a manufacturer. You can save a significant portion of money if you configure your own gaming desktop piece by piece, even to the extent where they match the best gaming desktop PCs in value and quality. For further information about the specific components used to build a gaming computer, please refer to our website iGamingComputers.com. Visit our gaming desktops page for each individual component in detail. We hope this guide gave you a general idea about how to configure a gaming computer.

They like to feel like small men, and do things that men usually do, like driving a car, participate to a war or defeat some dangerous character. Best Gaming Laptop Computers - Find Out Which Ones Are The Best

So you are wondering which are the best gaming laptop computers? If you are an experienced video game player, you know that it is important to have a strong computer when playing your games. Having a computer that isn't up to a certain level can ruin the video game experience. Let's talk about some of the different computers that are good for playing video games, as well as some of the computers that should be avoided.

First, let's start off with some of the laptops that should be avoided for gaming. I have never had a good experience with a Toshiba computer. When I was first buying a laptop, a gentleman gave Toshiba laptops a strong recommendation. I really trusted his opinion, so I got one and honestly, it was the worst laptop I had ever used. Well, a few years later, I was going to buy another laptop and again, I let this man talk me into another Toshiba. Well, needless to say, it was terrible again.

After trying a few different laptops for gaming, I was finally able to settle on one that I really liked. I currently use a Dell laptop and I greatly enjoy it. It handles video games very well. There is never a time when the computer freezes or any other types of problems arise from playing video games.

Another computer which is good for gaming is a Mac. These are different, because many of the games that are made for Windows are not made for Macs. Make sure to check into that before you purchase one.

Either of these are great choices. This is not to say they are the only great choices. There are thousands of computers out there and many of them are great options. Good luck finding the one for you!

Welcome to the World Of Gaming Notebook Computers

As notebook computers have gained in popularity, gamers have begun adapting them to their own needs. Gaming notebook computers are a totally separate entity from regular laptops and desktop computers.

Conventional notebook computers and those designed for gaming do have one big factor in common though. They're both designed with portability in mind. In the past, people who have wanted to attend a LAN (Local Area Network) party would have to unplug their desktop gaming computer and lug it to where the event was taking place. Now, it's just a matter of putting your dedicated laptop in a backpack and going.

Just as desktop gaming computers have their own special requirements, so do gaming laptops. For starters, consider a model that uses a desktop CPU instead of a mobile CPU. The desktop processor uses a faster FSB (Front Side Bus) than what's normally found in a laptop. The speed of the FSB is what establishes how responsive the computer will be because it's what communicates with the RAM and the motherboard. Another important consideration is the video card. Older type laptops have video cards that use the main system RAM. This slows down the computer. Normally you can't swap out the video card in a laptop. So it's important to get one that has enough power for your anticipated needs.

It's also important that any laptop that's going to be mainly used for gaming has a dedicated memory card. Some of the top models to look for are the Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 and GeForce FX Go 5700, the ATI Mobility Radeon 9800, ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 and the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600. Also carefully consider the hard drive. It's important to have enough capacity on your hard drive to hold your games. Most experts suggest a minimum of 60GB, although more is better.

An external USB mouse can make the gaming experience much more enjoyable. A laptops touch pad can be hard to work quickly enough in a high speed game. You might also consider an additional external battery since gaming places such large demands on available power. Many of the newer gaming laptops have hot-swappable bays that allow the player to switch out components like disk drives and batteries while the computer is running.

The manufacturer of gaming laptops used to be limited to just a few specialty builders. Now even major players like Dell, Sony and Hewlett-Packard have entries in the marketplace. With the addition of the big players, now's a great time for those looking at gaming notebook computers.

How to Buy a Gaming Desktop Computer

You want to buy a new gaming desktop computer, but the choices available are overwhelming. Picking the right gaming PC can be hit or miss. Do you really need all the fancy options of the most expensive models? If you scale back your purchase, will you regret it in six months because it won't run the latest game? Here are two important tips that can help you make a smart purchase of your next gaming PC.

Best picture

1. Resolution - Whether you are buying a new LCD monitor or using one you have already, you need to make certain the PC will support your LCD's native resolution, and ideally its maximum resolution as well. The native resolution means the number of pixels it supports without scaling the image up or down. For example, if you have an LCD with a 1680 x 1050 pixel native resolution, but the video card on your PC does not support this, then you will have to scale the image to fit that display, robbing you of image quality.

2. Interface type - DVI cables will usually give better image quality than VGA. Make sure the video connectors on the PC match the monitor. You can buy converters, but they sometimes will not work and you will sacrifice image quality.

Video processing choice: integrated or expansion card

If you care about high end gaming, do not buy a computer with integrated video. This is a cost savings approach that focuses on price over quality. It will likely mean that other components have been chosen for price vs. performance. Instead, buy a PC that uses a dedicated video card. Google the model number and read reviews, or check out tomshardware.com to find out if the card is powerful enough to play the game you want at a given video resolution. Go with a PCI express 2.0 card. If you only play flash based or Facebook games, integrated video should be good enough.

Computer Hackers Wanted For Organized Cyber Crime

Low Risk - High Return - Work Your Own Hours

The Ultimate Get Rich Quick Scheme

Wow! Can you imagine a help wanted ad like that in your local newspaper or pay-per-click ad in your favorite search engine?

Yet, organized cyber crime has become the most profitable - low risk - high return crime of our age. Hundreds of thousands of hackers are quietly using the Internet, hiding behind thousands of captured computers, stealing identities and money from innocent people like you and me. Sadly, there is little chance the hacker will ever get caught.

Organized cyber crime has become a big-time profession. Professional hackers make it their daily job to take advantage of current computer security trends and send out threats like Spam, phishing e-mails, Trojan horses containing key loggers, hijackers and more, all targeted to steal your identity and ultimately your money.

These cyber criminals can work alone or in groups. Either way, their first goal is to capture computers and turn them into zombies or bots. These are computers that the hacker controls without the owners knowledge.

As more and more computers are captured, the hacker develops an Army of computers or botnet that can be used for any number of criminal activities. The botnet may send out Spam e-mails, and Trojan horses. A botnet can cause denial-of-service attacks on web sites extorting money from the web site owners. This whole time the hacker is hiding behind a string of computers under his control. Tracing back to the hacker is nearly impossible.

Hacker Tools For Sale

Anyone can take advantage of the computer security trends and become a part of the organized cyber crime world. The tools of the trade are everywhere. You can find web sites that promote the use of these tools. What do you want? Here's a partial list of items you can find on the Internet:

· Remote Access Tools - known as RATs. These tools allow remote access to a computer. They were originally developed for white hat hackers to remotely repair computers. Now, this is a major tool in a cyber criminal's toolbox.

· Key logger Tools - Corporations and even parents find these tools necessary to keep everyone in line on the Internet. Unfortunately, hackers have learned how to use these tools to steal your private information.

· Video And Audio Systems - Hackers have tools that will penetrate your computer systems and watch your every move through the camera mounted on your computer or microphone that came with your computer.

· Voip And Broadband Phone Services - you can easily find tools such as web dialer worms to break into computers and listen to conversations or even dial and use the phone service. How hard is it for a criminal to place drug purchases or conduct terrorist activities with your computer?

· Computer Memory Storage - hackers can acquire tools to section off your computer and store anything they want like child pornography, criminal records and more.

· Spamming Tools - want to send e-mail out of someone else's computer? Just purchase this easy to use software and you can make that happen. Hackers send millions of Spam e-mails every day making up over 90 percent of all e-mail sent out worldwide.

· Create Your Own Virus - Yes, it's true. There are many web sites offering to mutate a current virus to your needs. Lately, virus attacks have been more targeted. That's why you haven't heard about massive virus attacks lately.

· Drive By Spyware - There are some web sites that promote that they will pay you to allow them to place a tool on your web site that puts spyware on every computer that visits the site. The more computers infected the more money you make.

· Computer Scrambling Devices - you can purchase tools that will scramble all or some of the information on a computer. Simply invade a computer, scramble important information, leave a message telling the victim to pay a few hundred dollars ransom to an overseas account and they will send the code to unscramble the information.

This list could go on and on. Organized cyber crime uses every tool they can find or devise to take advantage of the current computer trends and enhance their threats.

The headline reads: Computer Hackers Wanted For Organized Cyber Crime! The sub headline should say, "The general public is indifferent and isn't doing much to protect themselves. The Timing couldn't be better."

Organized cyber crime has moved, for the most part, from targeting large businesses to individuals and small business. Criminals know that this targeted group has little knowledge of computer security and a small amount of money to invest in their protection. They view this group as easy prey. So far, they are right on target.

The sad truth is that most people either don't seem to care or don't know what to do. Most of those that don't know what to do don't do anything about it, either. That's the current computer security trend. As a result, organized cyber crime and computer security threats continue to grow at an accelerating pace. Over $67 billion was stolen last year. Over eight million identities have been stolen every year for years and years back.

What Can We Do To Fight Organized Cyber Crime And Turn These Computer Security Trends Around?

For the most part, criminals are lazy. They are looking for the low road - not the high road. Making yourself a hard target to attack is your first defense against organized cyber crime and computer security threats.

The old saying, "knowledge is power," is most important. Make sure everyone in your home or business understands the threats and is careful not to allow these on a computer. However, even with the best knowledge there can be accidental leaks from opening Spam e-mail, drive-by-hacking from a web site, downloading infected cds and more.

Here are some tips to protect your home and business:

· Make sure you keep up with the latest most up-to-date Microsoft Windows patches

· Use an industrial grade bi-directional firewall. Most over-the-counter and products offered by Internet services don't offer this quality technology

· Make sure you have up-to-date antivirus protection

· Make sure you have best-of-breed anitspyware protection. Antispyware and antiviruses are different computer security threats and require different protection technologies.

· Avoid web sites that may have spyware including gambling and pornography.

The best protection is using the same computer security solutions used by major corporations around the world. A solution that uses overlapping technologies to prevent antiviruses, spyware and other computer security threats.

Computer Addiction Symptoms

You may ask yourself "What are the symptoms of Computer Addiction?" The answer is: "They can vary according to the extent of the addiction". For instance, some people may be only addicted mildly to the internet and computer, therefore, they display little nor no symptoms other than the constant desire to be using the internet or computer.

On the other hand, those suffering from severe computer addiction may display a variety of symptoms, some of which can be hazardous to health. There are some symptoms of acute computer-related addiction outlined below with a brief description of each.

*Mood swings and irritability when not at the computer.

One of the first, and the most pressing signs of computer addiction is when the person shows anger, irritability and mood swings when not at the computer. Very often, all lifes' situations become insignificant and they feel they must get back to the computer. The person seems to be completely preoccupied and focused on nothing else other than getting back online or back to the computer. If the person displays this sort of symptom, then it is a sure sign that this person is completely addicted to the computer.

*Showing signs of a lack of interest in offline activities.

This is a huge indication that computer addiction has taken hold. A computer addict may totally ignore their offline friends in favor of forming online relationships. It could even reach the extent that they sever relationships with their family as well. This is one of the most tragic symptoms, and when this happens, the computer addict needs to seek professional help as they are showing severe computer addiction symptoms.

*Loss of sleep and the abandoning of commitments to spend time at the computer.

This has a drastic effect on the health of a computer addict. They will often lose all track of time and will stay up all night to be at the computer with little or no sleep. They rarely go outside for fresh air and sunshine which will obviously affect their health. Another tragic computer addiction symptom is when the sufferer abandons their commitments to work, school, college, study and family to favor computer time. The abandoning of commitments will have a long-term effect on the life of the sufferer. Loss of their job, poor grades and failure of courses.

*Not eating balanced meals and lack of personal hygiene.

A person suffering from computer addiction, will very often miss meals. This is because it takes time to prepare a proper meal, time which would rather be spent at the computer. A computer addict will often favor snacks, fast food and soda. Another thing to bear in mind is the fact that a severe computer addict will not spend time for their ablutions. Again, these fundamental actions take time and some important conversation or a bad guy on the game who needs to be watched and could be missed if the addict were completing his or her ablutions.

*Lack of concentration and motivation for anything other than the computer.

The lack of motivation for any sort of activity outside of the computer environment. Computer addiction will cause lack of concentration, which could be very dangerous for those operating machinery or driving. This could have an obvious tragic effect on theirs - and others - health.

Sadly, these computer addictions are obviously very dangerous and should serve as a dire warning to the family and friends of addicts that the person needs to seek professional help before they crawl deeper into a virtual reality world with disastrous consequences. All these symptoms are due to computer addiction.

Beginner's Article - A Computer's Hardware

Beginner's Article: A Computer's Hardware

In our modern society the computer is an integrated and depended upon resource. Because they have been in our homes for quite awhile now many companies and individuals alike think that humans are "born" with computer knowledge. If you are age 25 or younger this may metaphorically be true but for the rest of us computers can be a challenge.

I am going to cover the bare basics of your computer here. It is going to cover the Hardware of your computer (Hardware meaning the hard items you can touch, pick up, and manipulate. Software on the other hand is referring to the programs on your computer...you can't touch these per se. Examples are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel etc.).

Your Computer's Hardware & Its Parts:

Your computer is comprised of 4 major parts we all know (this is not including printers, camera docks, etc) : the monitor, tower, keyboard, and mouse. The keyboard and mouse will not covered in this article because if you didn't know what they were you wouldn't be reading this!

The Monitor:

The screen you are looking at right now is the monitors function. It shows the visual data from your computer. A few key words related to your monitor are resolution and viewing size. Resolution refers to the shape and size of your monitors screen and how it processes the pixels which comprise the visual data you see in front of you. If you have a large screen then you will have more resolution (ability to process more amounts of visual data) than a smaller monitor. For instance, if you visit a website with a smaller monitor you may have a scroll bar appear at the bottom. You would move this bar to the right to be able to see the whole screen. Whereas if you view the same site with a larger monitor that scroll bar will not appear because you have a larger pixel resolution and see more data. Viewing Size is a term related to how big your monitors screen is. It is measured diagonally. Take a ruler or measuring tape and hold one end to the top right of the screen and finish measuring at the bottom left of the screen. You should come up with a number like 14.9 or 16.9. 14.9 means you have a 15 inch viewing size screen. 16.9 means you have a 17 inch viewing size screen.

The Tower:

The tower takes on several different names such as CPU, Hard Drive, or just Computer. Technically the "tower" is the case that holds your computers brains (I DO NOT recommend opening the case to see what I am referring to!). This is the outer box of your computer. Inside of the tower there are a lot of wires, circuits, and foreign looking items. We are only going to cover the essentials. The actual "brains" of your computer are screwed inside the tower and it is called the "motherboard". If you have ever seen the inside of a computer you have seen it - it is the largest item in there. On this motherboard sits a chip called the "CPU". CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. Technically it is the "brain" that runs the motherboard and controls the technical settings of your computer. It is a small chip that is usually placed in the middle of the motherboard. If you happen to open the case and want to see what I am talking about DO NOT touch or manipulate this chip - you WILL ruin your computer!

There are other parts that connect to the motherboard which are removeable and be changed out when they "go bad". Your Sound Card (how you get sound from the computer to your speakers) is connected to the motherboard and can be replaced when it goes out. Your Ethernet card (connects your computer to the internet via a special phone line that plugs in the back of the computer to your wall or DSL modem) is connected to the motherboard and can be replaced also. Your computer's memory connects to the motherboard too. These can all be replaced by novices but I must warn you - talk to a professional first to find out the correct tools to use. One static charge from your hand without being "grounded" can short out your computer and it will be un-useable!

This article should give you some basic knowledge about your computer's hardware. If you wish to learn more this should give a foundation for further research. Next time we'll cover Software so stay tuned!
